The Shenzhen Research Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University will base its technology transfer center in Yantian District as announced Nov. 1 at the fifth International Congress on Advanced Rehabilitation Technology and Clinical Translation held at the DBH Life Sciences and Health Industrial Park in Yantian District.
After establishing the technology transfer center in Yantian, the district will make greater efforts to strengthen coordinated and complementary relationships between the government, companies, universities and research institutes, so as to give full play to Yantian’s advantages in industry, scientific research and supporting services and to kick off a new pattern of high-quality development for Yantian’s life sciences and health industries.
Yang Jun, deputy Party chief of Yantian District Committee of the CPC and head of Yantian District, said in his address that Yantian boasts a favorable geographical location, beautiful ecological environment and solid industrial foundation, which constitute Yantian’s unique advantages in developing rehabilitation and medical industries. Yang added that the district is also offering full support in industrial space, finance and talent introduction.
Zhang Weigang, member of the standing committee of the CPC committee of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, said, “We’d like to take this as an opportunity to facilitate the deep integration of the university’s scientific and technological results and industries in Shenzhen for win-win cooperation.”
According to the congress, the establishment of the technology transfer center will serve as a platform for Shanghai Jiao Tong University to transfer its new technologies, products, crafts and materials and help them to gain access to the local market.
